That didn’t take long..CNIL, the French data protection regulator has fined Google 50 million euros for what it describes as a 2lack of transparency, inadequate information and lack of valid consent regarding ads personalisation”. It judged that peaople were “not sufficiently informed” about how Google collected data to persoanlise advertising.

Google in a statemnet said it was “studying the decision” to determine its next steps.
